The 5-6-day trek across the Kangra district and up the Indrahar mountain pass in Dhauladhar range will take you to an altitude of almost 4,500 meters above sea level. Throughout this trek, you will pass through some of the most scenic valleys of Himachal Pradesh. This trekking trail follows an already established trail that is frequently used by the Gaddi shepherds who take their flock to the summer grazing pastures. Reach the top and enjoy a spectacular view of the sacred Manimahesh Kailash peak.

Head to Manali for this moderately difficult trek. That’s right, we’re upping the ante. The Hampta pass lies between the Kullu valley and Lahaul and is the perfect trekking trail for avid nature lovers. During this magnificent trek, you will pass through thick forests studded with oak, pine and walnut trees, delicate streams of water that are so pure you can drink out of them, and villages hidden within the mountains. The trek takes a difficult turn when you will have to walk on ice and trek through narrow, sticky lanes. Make sure you don’t slip as falling here isn’t an option! Cranking it up a notch, we’re taking you through the 12-day trek at Dharamsala sitting at a cool 3300 meters up in the Kangra district. You will start off at McLeod Ganj and reach Kareri village. On the way, you will witness a beautiful temple on a hilltop dedicated to Lord Shiva overlooking the Kareri lake. The lake is continuously formed by the inflow of melted glaciers from the Mankiani Peak. This Himalayan trek is recommended for the more experienced trekkers who’ve had prior experience in high altitude trekking.

Bara Bhangal Trek

The Bara Bhangal trek is an extremely challenging trek that lasts over 17 days in Bharmour. You will be trekking at a whopping altitude of 8468 feet in very rough terrain between the Kangra, Chamba and Kullu valleys. This is easily one of the most challenging treks in Himachal Pradesh but the spectacular views of the Western Himalayas make it all worth it. In this trekking trail, you will encounter various altitudes, which might affect your breathing so make sure to take ample breaks, and several mountain passes from where you can see evergreen valleys dotted with alpine forests and exotic wildlife.

Shepherd Trail Gaddi Trek

Head to Kullu and Kangra for an 18-day super challenging trek through the most remote regions of Himachal Pradesh. Shepherd trail or the Gaddi trek is a bridge between the rich, picturesque Kullu and Kangra valleys. In this trek, you will pass through beautiful snow-capped mountains such as the Khanpari pass (3,600 meters) and the Thamsar Pass (3,500 meters). Watch your step as you encounter narrow trails and slippery rocks. Imbibe the scenic views of alpine woods and meadows, gushing streams and colourful orchards. This is the longest trek in Himachal Pradesh and you will have to endure very difficult elevations every day. So gear up!
